Pre 1855 Death Index CD - Special offer!

With over a quarter of a million entries, the Fife Family History Society pre 1855 Death Index is one of the most comprehensive data bases ever compiled. Not only is it an index to the deaths in the Fife OPR, but to fill in the many gaps in the OPR, the Society has included deaths/burials from St Andrews and Edinburgh Testaments (from 1549 to 1823), Sheriff Court Wills (1824-54), Fife newspapers (1822-54), Kirk Session Account Books for mortcloths not included in the OPR; Lair Registers held National Archives (Kirk Session Records),  Fife Council Burial Departments, Fife Council Archives and local museums (for Crail Sexton Books and Pathhead Feuars Lair Registers), Justiciary Records (mostly precognitions) for local murders and culpable homicides; also witchcraft records, and Emigration lists for those who died on ship en route to Australia. Printed and Manuscript family histories have also been studied.
