The University of St Andrews is pleased to offer the following workshops to the members of the Cupar community:

‘Caring for our Family Photographs’

Friday 5th April, 13.00 to 15.00 in Cupar Library, Room 14, Crossgate, Cupar KY15 5AS. This is for anyone interested in learning more about the history of photography, how to identify old photographic processes and how to take care of their own family archive. If you have any photographs on which you would like advice, please feel free to bring them along.

‘Scottish Palaeography’

Thursday 11th April, 10.00 to 12.00 in the New Park Seminar Room, Martyrs Kirk, 80 North Street, St Andrews, KY16 9HH. Participants will have the opportunity to learn how to decipher the handwriting in Scottish documents from 1500-1800. this will be a hands-on workshop using copies of the records from the Special Collections archives. In addition, there will be original materials to inspect.

‘Conservation/Preservation’

Wednesday 22 May, 10.00 to 12.00 in Cupar Library, Room 14, Crossgate, Cupar, KY15 5AS. This is for those interested in how to look after their own personal records, where and how to store them. If you would like advice on some of your own documents, please bring them along.
