This interactive talk will give an introduction to the challenges of reading old handwriting and will be illustrated with examples of documents from the local area. It will provide practical tips and techniques on how to tackle difficult manuscripts, and will try to de-mystify some of the technicalities of documents written in Scots. Advice will be given on where to find extra help and there will be chance to have a go for yourself.
