Last night (14 Feb 2017) we had a great turnout for our meeting. An excellent talk was given by Kim Beasley, an Archivist working with Scotland’s Places. She showed us examples of all the records that they hold. These include photographs, maps, valuations rolls, name books and a great selection of Tax records, including window tax, clock & watch tax, horse tax, dog tax, and servants tax. A lot of these are 18 century records. Access to this site is FREE and well worth looking through. A great tool for expanding your family history. Have a look at their website. http://www.scotlandsplaces.gov.uk/
