Like many Scots he discovered that some of his relatives migrated to Australia, and about six years ago discovered that three brothers of one of his 3x-Great-Grandmothers had not been willing migrants but all three had been transported.
The Fife Kalendar of Convicts has been compiled by a Andrew Campbell, a noted local genealogist, who has been editor of The Fife Family History Society Journal for over 25 years, and who has indexed many of its records over the years, including Fife Shopkeepers and Traders (1820-1870).
He also helped to co-ordinate the pre-1855 Fife Death Index CD, published by the Society, which has over a quarter of a million entries.
