Description
Collessie Churchyard, to 31 December 1911 was published by the author in October 1912 and printed by J & G Innes of Cupar. Its prime purpose was to enable the heritors of the parish of Collessie to decide which of the local families had prior right of interment in the Churchyard at a time when the Churchyard was becoming increasingly full. “Considering the population of the parish, the average annual number of claims for interment, the available area of the churchyard and the difficulty of again extending it, great care is required to be exercised in admitting the funerals of persons who die in other parishes and who are not the widowers or widows of persons interred at Collessie,”
Only a few copies were printed. It is a very scarce book, and really unobtainable on the antiquarian market. The Society therefore decided to bring it out as a CD, but as time has gone on CD players are no longer fitted as standard to computers and laptops, so we have produced this digital download.
